Three Attorneys Join Hanson Bridgett

San Francisco (September 18, 2007) — Hanson, Bridgett, Marcus, Vlahos & Rudy LLP announced today that Edward Bernard, Walter Crump and Kevin Reese have joined the firm's San Francisco office.

"Hanson Bridgett is a recognized leader in transactional and high stakes litigation in California," Managing Partner Andrew Giacomini said. "Edward, Walter and Kevin are experienced and successful lawyers and they will help us expand our ability to service our clients which remains one of our highest priorities."

Edward Bernard will serve as an associate in the Transactional Department, specializing in Employee Benefits. He was previously an ERISA attorney with Chang, Ruthenberg & Long PC since 2005. Prior to that, he was an ERISA attorney with Kraw and Kraw. He has extensive experience in all aspects of both qualified and nonqualified plans, including top hat supplemental retirement and Code section 457 deferred compensation plans. He received his J.D. from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, graduating with distinction and being honored with acceptance onto the Dean's List two consecutive years.

Walter Crump will serve as an associate in the Litigation Department, specializing in Insurance Coverage. Before coming to Hanson Bridgett, Crump served as a principal attorney for Guy Kornblum & Associates. There he represented clients in insurance, personal injury, real estate and commercial disputes. He received his dual B.A. from Georgetown University, magna cum laude, in Political Science and Spanish, and his J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law. Crump also spent considerable academic time in Spain and as such, speaks and writes very proficient Spanish. Crump is a board member for Friends of the Urban Forest and served for several years as a panel attorney for the AIDS Legal Referral Panel.

Kevin Reese will serve as Counsel in the Litigation Department, specializing in Labor and Employment . Before joining Hanson Bridgett, Reese served as Senior Counsel for the firms of Foster & Associates and Sheppard Mullin Richter and Hampton. Reese also served as a Staff Attorney for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. In addition, Reese has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University Of California, Hastings College of the Law and San Francisco Law School teaching appellate advocacy and civil procedure. He received his B.S. in Business Administration from San Jose State University and his J.D. from the University Of California, Hastings College of the Law. He is an expert in labor and employment law and has written, taught and spoken extensively on the subjects.
