HB Celebrates 50 Years of Practicing Law in the Bay Area
Firm Plans 'Anniversary Report' to Celebrate Clients, Accomplishments

San Francisco, CA (July 2, 2008)—July 1, 2008 marked the 50th Anniversary of Hanson Bridgett LLP, a firm that has represented Bay Area institutions like the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District and the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans) for over three decades.

In honor of its anniversary year, the firm unveiled a new look and website, shortened its name and plans to publish an Anniversary Report in the fall to celebrate its clients and achievements. The firm also recently made its biggest lateral acquisition when 12 lawyers from McQuaid, Bedford & Van Zandt LLP joined Hanson Bridgett, bringing the total number of attorneys to 147 in four offices in Northern California.

"Hanson Bridgett has proudly served Northern California for over 50 years," said Managing Partner Andrew G. Giacomini. "During that time, the legal industry has changed considerably and many firms have come and gone, but Hanson Bridgett has remained a strong, regional mid-sized firm dedicated to excellence and the highest professional standards of practice and conduct."

Hanson Bridgett was established in 1958 by the merger of two firms—Schofield, Hanson, & Jenkins and Bridgett & Marcus—after the firms' partners, who were tenants in the same building, met over a series of lunches at the Palace Hotel, just down the street from the firm's current San Francisco office. The original firm was known as Schofield, Hanson, Bridgett, Marcus & Jenkins.

There have been many changes of names, locations, processes and people over the years, but the founding principles of providing outstanding legal advice and a respectful workplace remain solidly in place today.
